Guilty as charged. I had a pet mouse as a teen and there was a glorious honeymoon period where I could take him out of his cage and let him run around and play with him. After that, he started biting and then he got a tumor. One bizarre (to me) visual that sticks with me: that mouse could shimmy up his water tube to bust out the cage (before I got a lid).
That is kinda the cutest thing ever!
