MYTH: American Pit Bull Terriers lock their jaws.
Dr. Brisbin: "The few studies which have been conducted of the structure of the skulls, mandibles and teeth of pit bulls show that, in proportion to their size, their jaw structure and thus its inferred functional morphology, is no different than that of any breed of dog.
There is absolutely no evidence for the existence of any kind of "locking mechanism" unique to the structure of the jaw and/or teeth of the American Pit Bull Terrier.

I am sorry to report that my Allie did not appear to appreciate Coaty's rendition. Perhaps being a Golden Retriever precludes appreciation of the Flat Coated Retriever's (or at least this particular Flat Coated Retriever's)musical talents.
O Allie - did you vote for the golf ball dog? (That's who Coaty lost out to on the Today Show competition.) My dogs all went bark-bark-bark when they heard Coaty but that's nothing out of the ordinary.
