Treats on the Internets

TN shelter says rescue group cherry picks the most adoptable dogs and leaves them with "dogs no one wants" so they will now charge that rescue group a $25 fee. What do you think?

Instead of scolding people who abandon pets at shelters in the night, maybe shelters should ask themselves if they are doing enough to make members of the community they serve feel comfortable approaching them in the light of day.

I have to admit, I don't have a problem with shelters charging rescue groups a minimal fee for pulling dogs. I think $25 is even a reasonable one- it basically covers the cost of the dog getting care while it was on a stray hold, no? And while rescue groups are always short on funds, are shelters any more well funded?
