You're Either With Us or You're Against Us

Life is full of grey. So is dog ownership. But for the sake of argument, I'll try to boil it down to simple, black and white terms:

If you have a dog as a pet and you take good care of him - providing food, water, shelter, exercise, discipline, affection, and veterinary care - I'm with you.

If you have a dog that you view primarily in terms of profit and loss, or a fight win record, or as a thing to kick around when you feel so inclined - I'm against you.

I personally believe there are lobbying groups out there who would like to see an end to dog ownership and are working to influence legislators to take incremental steps in that direction. Maybe that makes me crazy or wacky or silly and you don't want to sit next to me on the bus anymore. Too bad. Because remember: If you love your pet dog, I'm with you. I'm on you like white on rice and I'm not letting go. We won't agree on everything but we agree on the most important thing - we want the right to keep dogs as pets. I'm going to continue working to protect that right. And if I'm wrong about the animal rights lobbyists seeking an end to pet ownership - well, no harm done. Just another crazy lady on the blogosphere who loves her dogs.

Grab your tinfoil hat and I'll take you for a ride in my black helicopter!

PS: I wish I was geeky like you so I could do cool things like redirect my site. I LOVED the tinfoilhattery url!

While I can train a dog to do (or not do) just about anything, I have never been able to get my computer to do *anything* the least bit cool.

Um, is there someone out there - with an IQ higher than room temperature - who doesn't believe that the animalibbers mean what they say, and that every single piece of pet-related legislation pushed by teh H$UX and their ilk is geared towards making petdomesticated animal ownership difficult and then, once the first phase is complete and it's time to ramp things up, impossible?

Huh? Is there? Because if there is, that person needs to up their reading comprehension skills. They also need to focus on the forest, not the trees. Hello!

Doh! pet/domesticated animal ownership. H$UX and ITS ilk.

OK I'm tired but that's no excuse.

Example:

No Birth Nation - Hello!
Nasty Breeders - Hello!

What's funny is that even some people who breed dogs (and talk about it on the internet) are in denial about the H$UX's true agenda.

It's related to the attitude some people have about who will be targeted by insane legislation. You know, the old 'well, if you're not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about' folk.

What they fail to realize is that laws must be written to PROTECT the individual from the power of the State, which is the entire purporse of a Bill/Charter of Rights and a democratic system of govt.

These people seem to believe that laws are supposed to be subjectively applied and interpreted by the people enforcing them so that only 'bad people' are captured and 'good people' skate.

Wild, eh? Yes, we really do say 'eh' up here in the not-so-frozen North. Nyuk!
